Cluster planning
Cluster your workforce by discipline, shift and subcontractor — not just by property size. A cluster keeps a crew together, reduces travel time and improves welfare.
Aim for properties inside a defined radius (usually 5–10 miles) of the site, and split clusters by shift where possible so night-shift workers can sleep.
Cleaning and welfare cycles
Weekly professional cleans are the baseline. On rotational work, deep cleans at each handover keep welfare high and prevent complaints from crews arriving to a tired-looking property.
Room-list management
A live room-list per property — updated when crews change — is the single biggest admin win. Without it, weeks 6 onwards descend into 'who's actually in that house?' calls.
Cost control
Fix pricing for the length of the programme. Avoid platforms that reprice weekly. Consolidate to one supplier so you're not chasing a dozen invoices.
Reporting
Reporting aligned to your project WBS or cost breakdown is a huge time-saver at month-end. Ask suppliers to produce invoices coded to your cost lines.
