Non-negotiable: reliable Wi-Fi
Design, remote diagnostics and VPN work all need a solid connection. Any property offered for engineers should have wired Ethernet or a strong mesh setup.
Workspace
A real desk. A dining table doesn't cut it for a laptop, monitor and drawings.
Kitchen
Engineers on rotation eat at odd hours. A full kitchen — not a kitchenette — matters more than most other amenities.
Parking
Off-street parking, ideally for two vehicles. Engineers often travel with kit; the last thing they need is a parking permit hunt at midnight.
Site proximity
Under 30 minutes to site if at all possible. Over 45 minutes destroys retention on long assignments.
